Daniela Atanasova
About
Contemporary visual artist, based in Ocean City, New Jersey, USA
She is a contemporary visual artist working between abstraction and reality. Through painting, drawing, and mixed media, her work explores memory, symbolic imagery, and emotional landscapes that shape human experience. Living and working in a coastal environment, the shifting atmosphere of nature subtly informs the contemplative mood of her work.
Many of the paintings are created on an intimate scale that encourages close viewing and quiet contemplation. In this sense, there is an affinity with the tradition of the Dutch Golden Age painters, whose small-format works transformed everyday moments into profound visual experiences. Similarly, the intimate scale of Atanasova’s paintings encourages a slower and more attentive encounter with the image. The reduced scale invites the viewer to focus on subtle relationships between form, gesture, and inner atmosphere.
